'Breathe" was by no means Midnight Oil's most successful album and after two decades together, many in the press were predicting the band's demise. But they have returned with not just another album but one full of passion and political anger. The title track being aimed squarely at those supporting the One Nation philosophy. In fact the album as a whole has a much harder edge. Assorted guitar pedals and effects provide some of the most grungy and gutteral sounds the Oils have recorded for some time. The intensity of many of the tracks will probably not give mainstream radio much cause for support (although there are a couple suitable tracks warranting airplay) however fans will cherish a return to the fire in the band's belly.
