Midnight Oil

To be blunt, this is definitely only for the completists. If you're a serious Midnight Oil fan, you should pick this up. Otherwise, steer clear. This debut effort is a pedestrian combination of loud guitars and tired melodies. It's certainly an energetic effort, but the band is far from its trademark sound and Peter Garrett had not yet figured out how to use its voice. The most notable thing about this album are the very first words Garrett sing, "There's a shit storm a-coming," which nicely sums up all that Midnight Oil would someday become.
